News & Events
It is with much excitement that I write to you this month. As you'll see below the team at Bailiwick Legal has been busy and we have a lot coming up too.
But first, we want to thank you for your continued support. I am aware that the last call you often want to make is to your lawyer, yet you do and it is a great privilege for us to work on your behalf.
Thank you

RRR Network Roundtable
We were excited to sponsor the RRR Network's second round table - Can the regions cope with increased demand?
Jess and Danielle, together with intern Matilda, attended. The morning included guest talks from Sally Pullin (Tourism Council WA), Julie Hillier (Vineyard Owner & Executive Coach), Lisa Shreeve (Busselton Jetty) and Jessica Shaw (WA Legislative Assembly Swan Hills Member) followed by general discussions amongst the crowd.
The perspectives provided were insightful with an overarching position that WA can cope with increased demand, however, it’s not without its challenges. We’re looking forward to the next Roundtable event.

Legal Insights
This month, especially for our tourism operator friends, we are sharing legal insights into the area of claims for damages and distress. |

Keep Calm and Cruise On – When Disappointment and Distress May Result in an Award of Damages
With the impacts of COVID-19 continuing to effect our everyday lives, Australia’s tourism industry has been forced to adapt more than most for the foreseeable future.
Damages for disappointment and distress
At law, a consumer may recover damages against a supplier for any loss or damage suffered by the consumer because of a failure to comply with consumer guarantees if it was reasonably foreseeable that the consumer would suffer such loss or damage as a result of such failure.

Coming up for Bailiwick Legal... |
|
|
The Bailiwick team is excited to be heading out to Muresk this month for the WAFarmers Forum in partnership with National Farmers Federation.
|
|
|
|
You don’t need to head to Optus Stadium for a showdown, it’s all happening in Moora.
On 17 July 2021, Bailiwick Legal will sponsor the Round 12 ‘Farmer Appreciation Round’ of the Central Midlands Coastal Football Leagues’ ‘cross over’ fixture between the Moora Mavericks and the Mortlock’s Dalwallinu Bulldogs
At Bailiwick Legal, we recognise the significance farming, and farming communities has to the Australian economy and society as a whole, and have recently partnered with the Moora ‘Mavericks’ Football Club and the Cunderdin Netball Club to provide support to the volunteers and the sporting clubs that are the lifeblood of the rural communities.
