News & Events

This month we are celebrating Bailiwick's 8th birthday and I want to thank you for being part of our journey thus far. We have had our ups and downs over the years but as we near a decade I can confirm that the highs outweigh the lows.

When I wrote last, the team was getting ready to go out on the road as we commenced our Regional Hot Desks across WA. The team, in between Covid outbreaks, has been regularly popping into Beverley, Cunderdin, Merredin, Moora, Northam, and York and will continue to do so as it has proved very popular. To find out when we are in a town near you click here, otherwise if you would like us to visit your town please reach out to us.

Next month we will join the team at WAFarmers and head to Dowerin for the GWN7 Machinery Field Days. Please come in to chat with one of the team members or share a beer at the sundowner.

Thank you
Phil Brunner

WAFarmers Grains and Livestock Forum “Fodder for Thought”

The Bailiwick Team attended the WAFarmers Annual Grains and Livestock Forum at Muresk on the 23rd and 24th of June.

This year the focus of the forum was the fundamental drivers in the agricultural supply chain with a focus on input costs. During the Friday sessions, we heard from growers, government departments and representatives from WA’s key agribusinesses.

The Forum was a great event to celebrate the achievements of WA farmers but also address the challenges that lay ahead for growers and the industry as a whole.

Facey Group Taking Care of Business - Wickepin

Phil, Danielle and Matilda made the journey out to Wickepin on the 29th June for the Facey Group's Taking Care of Business event. The day was designed to provide early career farmers with the business skills they would need to operate a successful farm enterprise.

Phil and Danielle presented the different structures that farmers can use to run their businesses and touched on the key income, liability, and compliance implications of each structure.

It was fantastic to see farmers of all ages in attendance at the event and Bailiwick Legal looks for to attending the next Facey Group event.

CWA State Conference 2022

Matilda and Anna attended the 98th CWA State Conference on the 19th and 20th July. This year the Conference was held in Gingin and run by the Bindoon/Chittering Belles.

The Conference was a packed out event, with women attending from branches as far as Derby and Esperance.

It was great to see so many women are still involved with the CWA and keeping the traditions of the Association alive. We look forward to next year’s Conference.

The day also featured a luncheon that showcased local produce, live music and market stalls. We thank the Facey Group for another wonderful event.

Phil, Jess and Matilda headed down to Busselton on the 21st July to attend the WAFarmers Dairy Conference and AGM for 2022.

Despite the rain, the Bailiwick team had a great day listening to local producers and industry representatives talk about how we can make the dairy industry's future better for everyone.

The conference concluded with an information session about Foot and Mouth Disease, which attracted not only dairy producers but also cattle producers and local transporters affected by the disease.
